Homeopathy is a complete system of natural medicine that works by stimulating the body’s own healing intelligence. The remedies are made from plants, minerals, or other natural substances and are prepared through a specific process of dilution and succussion (vigorous shaking), making them energetic rather than chemical in nature. Homeopathic remedies are gentle, non-toxic, and tailored to treat the individual’s energetic disturbance, the true root cause of illness, rather than just masking symptoms.

A succussion is firmly tapping the bottle against the palm of your hand. This is done before each dose. Please follow your homeopath’s instructions relating to succussions.

All homeopathic doses (liquids & pills), are meant to be taken under the tongue unless otherwise prescribed. Children’s doses can be given into their mouths. As you are dosing, try not to let the dropper touch your mouth. As a reminder, the pipette is made from glass, so be careful not to let children touch the dropper to their mouth or teeth. If you can’t feel the drops going under your tongue, a mirror can be used or you can alternate sides as you dispense the drops. If your remedy is in pillule form, these can be left to dissolve under the tongue.

If you are prescribed the half glass of water method, instead of taking the remedy directly under your tongue, follow your succussions and drops dosage but put the drops into 1/2 a glass of water. Stir with a teaspoon then take 1/2 teaspoon of this water under your tongue. Discard the remaining water. Follow this method for all doses as per your prescription.

When taking a first-aid remedy during an acute injury or illness, the remedies can be dosed using a rapid dosing technique. Succuss the bottle and then add 2-3 drops of your first aid remedy to 500mls of WATER in a glass bottle. Shake it up prior to every dose and sip every 15 minutes or as often as needed - you are aiming to match the frequency of dosing to the intensity of symptoms. EVERY SIP IS A DOSE!

Colds, flus, coughs & sore throats etc. all move through different stages and therefore may require different remedies. If you have a kit or a number of remedies and you find you get improvement and then improvement stops, you are not doing anything wrong, the condition has moved into a new phase and may require a new remedy. It can be hard to keep up with ever-changing symptoms but keep going with it, prescribe on symptoms as needed.

Short (acute) consultations outside of the standard appointments are encouraged to be booked in for brief healthcare management if needed. These appointments are available for existing clients at this time. Email correspondence for any more detailed or complicated case management is not ideal.
